LATEST VACANCIES

Access Platform Operators

We have an immediate need for Access Platform operators who currently hold either a CPCS card for the “MEWP Boom” category or alternatively an IPAF card endorsed with “Self Propelled Boom”. Any other plant competencies held on a CPCS card will be taken into consideration.

Applicants holding a Personal Track Safety card and who have experience working in the railway industry are preferred.

Road/Rail 360 Excavator Operators

Operators must hold a CPCS Road/Rail red or blue card for Excavator or Excavator/Crane and their associated attachments. Training can be provided for those who wish to start operating access platforms and will be undertaken to the IPAF and CPCS card schemes.

Both of the above positions are for part time work only, with the majority of shifts occurring at the weekend, when the peak demand in the rail industry occurs.

Interested in joining Readypower as a plant operator or fitter?

 

Before applying you must ensure that you hold the following:

 

  • CPCS Card
  • CSCS Card (Only applicable for fitters)
  • PTS Card (Only applicable for rail plant operators)
  • Valid Driving Licence

 

CPCS Card

 

In line with the Construction Plant Competence Scheme Readypower only employ plant operators who possess a CPCS card. This ensures that the high standards that Readypower are known for are maintained through a more efficient and safer working force.

 

The CITB Construction Plant Competence Scheme which was launched in 2003 and replaced the CTA scheme as the main standard for plant operators, proving they have the qualifications and experience to operate plant.

 

Operators wishing to join Readypower will only be considered if they hold a valid Red or Blue CPCS Card.

 

 

CSCS Card

 

If you are looking to join Readypower as a fitter you must be in possession of at least a Gold level Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card.

 

The CSCS Card aims to keep a record of workers in the construction industry who have achieved a recognised level of competence and to provide a means of identification. It also serves to raise health and safety standards and reduce risks and accidents throughout the industry

 

 

PTS Card (only applicable to rail plant operators)

 

If you are looking to join Readypower as a Rail operator you must be in possession of a Personal Track Safety card holding both PTS AC and PTS DC competencies.

 

This card ensures that you meet the necessary standards required for operators working on Network Rail controlled infrastructure.

 

PTS Cards are issued by Capita, acting on behalf of the NCCA, when training events have been successfully passed by candidates.

 

To hold a PTS Card you must hold:

 

  • A Network Rail approved medical certificate to standard GE/RT8067.

 

  • A Network Rail approved Drugs and Alcohol test showing a negative result to standards GE/RT8070.

 

Successful General Applications

 

Should your initial application to Readypower be successful you will then be required to complete an employee pack and will be issued with Personal Protective Equipment.

 

 

Successful Rail or Fitter Applications

 

Should your initial application to Readypower be successful you will then be required to follow these steps:

 

  • Attend a Network Rail approved pre-employment Drugs & Alcohol test and a Medical examination. However if you already possess an original blue copy of your existing Medical Certificate then you will only be subject to the Drugs and Alcohol screening.

 

  • Subject to the results of the Drugs & Alcohol test coming back negative and the Medical Examination being passed you will then be invited to join Readypower on either a Full time or Part time basis.

 

  • You will be required to complete a full Employee pack and will then be issued with Personal Protective Equipment.
